Exterior and site work: parking stalls and striping, sidewalks, driveways, fences, gates, retaining walls, pools, decks, patios, and landscape symbols. These are the largest blocks in the library and get laid out against property lines and setbacks.

Everything outside the building footprint goes on the site plan, and these 25 blocks are the largest in the library: parking stalls, a car, a driveway with apron, sidewalks, fences and gates, retaining walls, decks, patios, pools and a hot tub, a shed, a vehicle lift, trees, shrubs, planters, a mailbox, a grill and outdoor seating. A civil engineer or landscape architect draws them, or the residential designer on a single-lot plan, working against the property lines and setbacks. Paving and parking go on C-PKNG or C-ROAD, planting on L-PLNT, and structures like decks and sheds on A- layers.
Sizes come from how people use a site. The vehicle stall is 120 x 240 in (10 x 20 ft) and the car in plan 72 x 192 in. The driveway block defaults to 240 in long and 120 in wide, plus a 48 in apron. The sidewalk is 48 in wide, the fence a 240 in run with posts, the retaining wall 12 in thick by default. The rectangular pool is 360 x 180 in (30 x 15 ft), the kidney and oval pools 360 x 200 in, and the tree defaults to a 240 in canopy.
Pools, decks and grade changes bring their own rules. A residential pool needs a barrier at least 48 in high with self-closing, self-latching gates under the ISPSC, which the fence and gate blocks help you locate. Decks are governed by IRC R507, and a deck or walking surface more than 30 in above grade needs a guard. The deck block's ledger parameter marks which edge bolts to the house.
Draw site elements at the true size of the ground they occupy, then check them against setbacks and easements before anything else. Linear blocks (fence, sidewalk, retaining wall, raised bed) insert at their start and run along +X, so set length rather than scaling. Trees insert at the trunk and shrubs at the center, so their canopy circles show crowding and shade. Draw mature canopy, not nursery size.

The vehicle stall block is 120 x 240 in (10 x 20 ft), adjustable from 96 to 144 in wide and 216 to 264 in deep. Local zoning codes set the required stall size and drive-aisle width, so check the jurisdiction. Accessible spaces are in the ADA category with their access aisles.
The rectangular pool block is 360 x 180 in (30 x 15 ft), and the kidney and oval pools are 360 x 200 in, with lengths adjustable from 120 or 180 in up to 720 in. Pools need a barrier at least 48 in high with self-closing, self-latching gates, so draw the fence and gate with the pool.
Insert the tree at its trunk center and set the diameter to the mature canopy; the default is 240 in, adjustable 36 to 600 in. The shrub block defaults to 48 in. Canopy circles at mature size show crowding, shade and conflicts with foundations, walks and utilities before planting.
