These 25 blocks belong on the architectural floor plan, the sheet the architect or residential designer draws first and every consultant then traces over. Doors, windows, columns, fireplaces and a chimney mass fix where walls open and where they cannot, so they go in before furniture or MEP symbols, and they stay on the A-DOOR, A-GLAZ and A-COLS layers the AIA/NCS convention names for them. Put the masonry pieces on A-WALL or a fireplace sublayer so they plot with the wall weight.
Sizes follow what gets framed. Swing doors come at 26, 28, 30, 32 and 36 in, and each block's footprint includes the swing arc, so the 36 in door occupies 45 x 38.25 in on the plan. Bifolds run 48 to 96 in, the bypass pair is 72 in, the pocket door reserves 68.5 in of wall for its 32 in leaf plus the pocket, and the overhead garage door is 108 in. Width sets code compliance: the IRC wants the required egress door to give 32 in of clear width, and the 2010 ADA Standards (404.2.3) measure 32 in clear with the door open 90 degrees, which a 32 in leaf does not deliver once stops and the leaf thickness are subtracted. Use a 36 in leaf wherever access matters.
Windows are drawn as wall sections at 24, 36, 60 and 72 in. A bedroom window is also an emergency escape opening under IRC R310, which sets a minimum net clear opening and a 44 in maximum sill height, so check the unit's clear opening, not just the rough width you drew. The fireplaces carry a 16 in hearth parameter because the IRC requires a hearth extension of at least 16 in in front of an opening under 6 square feet.
Three habits save rework. Doors and windows insert at the left jamb or hinge point on the wall centerline, so snap to the centerline, not a wall face, and rotate afterward. Flip a swing door with its hand parameter instead of mirroring, so the door schedule reads the hand from the block rather than from a negative scale. Columns insert at their center, which lets you drop an 8 or 12 in square column straight onto a grid intersection.

Use the 36 in single swing door. The 2010 ADA Standards require 32 in of clear width measured with the door open 90 degrees, from the face of the door to the opposite stop. A 32 in leaf loses width to the stop and the leaf itself, so it usually falls short. The 36 in block covers 45 x 38.25 in on the plan including its swing arc.
A pocket door needs a wall cavity as long as the leaf beside the opening. The 32 in pocket door block is 68.5 in long because it reserves the pocket as well as the opening, which tells you how much straight, uninterrupted wall you need. Keep plumbing, switches and outlets out of that pocket length when you lay out the wall.
Swing and double-acting doors insert at the hinge point on the wall centerline; bifold, bypass, pocket and double doors and all four windows insert at the left jamb on the wall centerline. The garage door is the exception, inserting at the inner face of the left jamb on the wall line. Snap to the wall centerline, place, then rotate to the wall's angle.
