This is the smallest category in the library, five blocks: a 27 in washer, a 27 in dryer, a stacked washer and dryer, a 30 in stove, and a 48 in fume hood. The first three are what a residential designer places in a laundry room or closet on the architectural floor plan, usually on A-FLOR-APPL or the same equipment layer as the kitchen. The stove is an alias of the 30 in range, kept so a search for either name finds it, and the fume hood serves school and lab rooms that share the same sheet conventions.
Front-load and top-load laundry pairs are close to 27 in wide, so both machines are 27 x 27 in and the stacked pair 27 x 31 in, which is the dimension that decides whether a closet works. Two side-by-side machines need about 54 in of wall before trim and hoses. Add depth for the dryer vent connection behind the unit and for the door to open in front; the plan block shows the box, not the swing.
The dryer vent often sets the room's location. IRC M1502 limits a dryer exhaust duct to 35 ft of developed length, less 2.5 ft for each 45 degree bend and 5 ft for each 90 degree bend, unless the manufacturer allows more. Put the laundry on an exterior wall where you can. On the electrical plan, NEC 210.52(F) requires a laundry receptacle and 210.11(C)(2) a dedicated 20 A laundry circuit, and an electric dryer needs its own 240V receptacle.
The 48 x 30 in fume hood belongs to a different world: its airflow performance is tested under ANSI/ASHRAE 110, and its location on the plan should keep it away from doors and high-traffic aisles that disturb the face velocity.

The washer and dryer blocks are each 27 x 27 in, so side by side they need 54 in of wall before any clearance for hoses and trim. The stacked pair is 27 x 31 in. Add room behind for the dryer vent connection and in front for the doors to open and a person to load them.

They are the same block. The 30 in stove block is an alias of the 30 in range: 30 x 25 in, width adjustable 24 to 36 in and depth 24 to 27 in. It is kept under both names because people search for both. The kitchen category carries the range along with a separate 30 x 21 in cooktop and 30 in wall oven.
