Can I open a DWG file without AutoCAD?
Yes. Drop a DWG (r11 through r2018) into CADdillo and it converts to DXF, which opens natively in your browser — no AutoCAD, no install, no account. Pan, zoom, and inspect layers. You can export back to DXF or DWG that any copy of AutoCAD opens.
Is there a free AutoCAD alternative in the browser?
CADdillo is one. The free tier gives you the full editor, all 219 professional blocks, and 3 drawings — running entirely in your browser on any operating system. Pro is $20/mo for unlimited drawings, DWG import/export, and AI credits, versus roughly $60/mo for AutoCAD LT.
Can AI draw a floor plan?
CADdillo's engine can. You describe what you want — "array three flower rooms at 30 by 40", "mirror the packaging line across the corridor" — and the engine drafts it, renders a preview, checks its own work, and corrects. The engine is live today; the in-app Dillo Bot chat is rolling out.
Do my files get uploaded?
DXF files never leave your machine — viewing and drawing happen entirely in your browser. DWG is the one exception: DWG is a closed binary format, so it is converted server-side, and the uploaded file is deleted immediately after conversion. Full detail in the privacy policy.
What file formats does CADdillo support?
It reads DWG (r11–r2018) and DXF, and exports DXF/DWG that every version of AutoCAD opens, plus PNG for quick shares. Full server-side round-trip export is part of the Pro workflow.
Is there a CADdillo mobile app?
CADdillo runs fully in your mobile browser today — iPhone, iPad, and Android. It is real drafting, not a viewer: a floating tool button opens the tool sheet, panels slide up as bottom sheets, and a feet-and-inches keypad lets you type exact dimensions like 12'6". Just open app.caddillo.com in Safari or Chrome. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap; the web app is the mobile story today.
I pre-ordered — when do I get access?
Accounts and AI credits go live this week. Your purchase is tied to the email you check out with and unlocks automatically the moment login opens — nothing else to do. Your founding price is locked in, and you can cancel anytime.
